MONTEREY CYPRESS- Hesperocyparis macrocarpa

Bent by the prevailing winds, these wind and salt resistant trees can often be seen around Stanley and settlements. They were introduced by settlers who planted them in gardens for windbreaks. They grow up to 25m high.
